The world famous AC Cobra is a car of a legend. Originally a thinly disguised race car for the open road, the development of the AC Ace and the installation of Ford’s then new 260 (4.2-litre) Windsor V8 created a whole new class of roadster - and the AC Cobra arrived in 1963. Word quickly spread, and as the car’s reputation grew as did its performance, with the addition of the 427 (7-litre) V8 in 1965 cementing its status as the car to be in - or the car to beat. Wildly famous and frequently imitated, genuine AC Cobras remain rare, with less than 1000 having been made in period. The chassis of every genuine AC Cobra in period was built in UK, at the company’s famous Thames Ditton factory - including the cars destined for American customers. Visually identical to the original AC Cobra of 1962, YAL 66E (COB2753) is a descendant of the early AC Cobra Mk. II 347s, first seen in 1963. Powered by a Ford V8, the AC Cobra Mk. II 347 delivers all the performance and soundtrack that you would expect from an automotive legend, and represents a unique opportunity for enthusiasts and collectors as part of a final edition comprising just four Mk IIs that were fitted with the 347 V8.
